
Moagi Kai
BIOGRAPHY
Moagi Kai is a trained Mafikeng born and bred actor, poet, physical theatre performer, facilitator, voice over artist and seTswana translator who started training at The Mmabana Arts Culture and Sports Foundation. Moagi graduated from The Market Theatre Laboratory in 2020
During his school career, he stage-managed for Open Class at the Market Theatre Lab and took time to develop his facilitation skills. He was part of the ensemble casts of the Naledi Theatre Award winning plays ‘No Easter Sunday for Queers’ (directed by Mwenya Kabwe) and ‘Eclipsed’ (directed by Sylvaine Strike in collaboration with Gina Shmukler and Phumlani Mndebele)
Moagi is involved in a web series called ‘Ikas’lami’ (directed by Lilli Mahlangu), he has also recorded Jefferson Tshabalala’s Kongolose Kommanding Kommissars (KKK) audiobook.
Moagi’s voice credits includes portraying the character of Thato in a Teens Radio Drama, ‘Sinovuyo’ (Clowns Without Borders) and he plays the on-screen character of Lawrence on the SABC 1 drama ‘Skeem Saam’ (peu communications)
Moagi Kai has a passion for the young audience and is interested in how we can better tell authentic stories in such drastically changing times.
