Damien Wantenaar is a performer, writer, and theatre-maker. He is a recent Honours graduate in Theatre and Performance from the University of the Witwatersand, where he honed his skills in many student productions. Professionally, he has performed at the State Theatre with Herstory Museum (2021) and has appeared on Trace Urban in SBX’s music video 4U. As a writer, Damien’s play The Violin Sonata was selected to be performed in the 2019 Market Lab directing examinations.

Damien’s interest in drama lies in telling stories that articulate the human experience, whilst experimenting with style and form. He is incredibly excited to be a part of KwaSha Theatre Company and looks forward to the exciting year ahead.
